PTT Public Company Limited will consider raising the price of natural gas in January. It’ll happen after it has capped the price at 8.50 baht per kilogram for long. Senior Executive Vice President of PTT's Gas Business Group, Chittipong Kwangsuksathit, said that the NGV cost had been on the rise. Following that, the company needs to consider increasing the price. However, it will not adjust the price to the upper limit. In place, the price is likely to be raised to a half level of diesel prices. Mr. Chittipong contradicted news reports on a delay in the construction of PTT's third-phase gas pipeline. He said the project had been implemented as planned. The gas supply will begin as being planed in the middle of the next year. Gas prices would stay unaltered at around 190 baht per BTU early next year. How much the prices will increase depends on fuel prices. However the gas prices would not increase considerably, said Mr. Chittipong.
