Most Bangkok residents disagree to boycott the general election, take place on April 2. More than 74% of residents said, they disapproved of the idea about boycott, which was floated by Abhisit Vejjajiva, the Democrat Party leader. Less than 14% of respondents agreed to the boycott plan. Among those surveyed, 37.4% said they viewed as ‘proper’ Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's decision to dissolve the House of Representatives. Another 22.5% named the decision as ‘improper’. The remaining 40% offered no answer. About 54% of respondents said, that they would rather have seen the prime minister publicly explain himself against allegations stemming from his family's sale of shares in telecom giant Shin Corp Plc. More than 41% of residents told they believed the House disintegration would not help to improve the political situation. However, 34.2% expected a better future.
