Thaksin Shinawatra, Thai Prime Minister, vowed to create a coalition government if he wins next weekend's disturbing elections, after thousands of anti-government protesters flooded into Bangkok's rich downtown shopping area. ‘If I come back as prime minister, I will form a national coalition and invite the opposition to join the government, even though they have boycotted the election,’ declaimed Thaksin to thousands of supporters at a campaign rally on the outskirts of Bangkok. Thaksin called the April 2 crack election three years early. He hopes to end weeks of street protests demanding his resignation over pretensions of corruption and abuse of power. However the leading opposition have boycotted the polls. It casting doubt on whether the election will meet legal requirements to form a modern parliament. After about 10,000 protesters briefly paralyzed Bangkok's upscale shopping district, Thaksin being forced to spoke hours.
