Noppadon Kannika, abac pollster, advised caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra take a break from his political career on Monday. It quotations the number of abstention ballots as proof of voter hostility. ‘The majority of voters, as much as 70%, deem it inappropriate for election winners to assume office if the number of 'no vote' ballots outnumbered their votes,’ told Noppadon. ‘This is a clear sign that Thaksin and his Thai Rak Thai Party will not win the public's confidence to govern even if they can legally declare an election victory,’ he added. Noppadon Kannika urged Thaksin to call his political successor rather than clinging to power. He made up his opinion from a survey of 1,169 respondents exiting polling stations in Bangkok and greater Bangkok on Sunday.
